About Wound Care with American River Visiting Providers
American River Visiting Providers offers home health services for patients that need ongoing support. We are able to provide wound care for Medicare patients that qualify for this level of treatment. Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Failed response to other appropriate wound care measures, increasing in size or depth, and does not appear to be improving.
- Wound has been chronic or non-healing for at least 4 weeks.
- There is a skin deficit of at least 1.0 square centimeters.
- Diabetic, venous insufficient, and neuropathy patients much have concurrent medical management that is documented and accessible upon request (foot ulcer patients must be non-weight bearing or offloading pressure).
- Venous statis patient ulcer has to be present for at least 3 months, but still with 4 weeks of being unresponsive to appropriate wound care.
- All ulcer patients are free of infection and osteomyelitis. There is control of edema, venous hypertension, and lymphedema.
